Visit the impressive Galapagos Islands (one of the four Ecuadorian regions) and explore their amazing variety of flora and fauna during. During your 5-day Island Hopping Tour you will get to know the Archipelago’s nature and wildlife while being based on Santa Cruz Island. This island is the Archipelago’s center since the nearby airport island Baltra ensures a connection to Ecuador’s mainland. Santa Cruz’ highland is very fertile and used for agriculture. From this island, the next days you explore Galapagos’ further islands and admire the biodiversity, nature and wildlife, for example by snorkeling or paddling.

Day 1 – Santa Cruz Highlands
Your guide will pick you up at the airport on Baltra Island. You will take the bus (approx. five minutes) to cross Baltra, take the ferry across the Itabaca Channel to Santa Cruz Island.
You will visit the highlands of this Island (please have your shoes and rain gear ready). Check out the twin craters of Los Gemelos, see giant Galapagos tortoises roaming in nature, and cross through ancient underground lava tunnels. Then visit a reforestation and coffee project and learn about the ways in which people do conservational work on Galapagos.
Finally you travel on to Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz’ principal town. At the hotel you will be met by our representative who will give you your snorkel gear (included).
Day 2 – Uninhabited Island
Today you take a boat to Bartolome Island, South Plaza Island, Las Palmas or Santa Fe. The uninhabited islands are what makes Galapagos so special: animals that can only be found on these specific islands, endemic plant species, birds that get so close you can almost touch them (please do not though…), and sea lions sleeping in the sun.
Please note that the actual island visited depends on the schedule authorized by the national park authorities.
Day 3 – Bay Tour by Kayak
In the morning you have free time. Our representative will give you some tips for excursions on your own. Walk, for example, to the beautiful beach of Tortuga Bay or visit the Charles Darwin Research Station.
In the afternoon you will enjoy activities in and on the water: By Kayak you paddle from German Beach to Punta Estrada. After a short walk you can look for whitetip reef sharks from the crack in the rocks (Las Grietas) and nesting colonies of marine birds on the cliffs.
Over lava rocks and passing saltwater lagoons you walk down into the crack on wooden stairs. In the channel you can swim and snorkel before you paddle back to German Beach.
Note: According to the tide the program could take place in the morning with the afternoon free.
Day 4 – Uninhabited Island
Visit another uninhabited island today. Spend an unforgettable day surrounded by the unique landscape, flora, and fauna. Admire once more the colorful underwater world with its many fish and maybe even a giant sea turtle and some sea lions.
Day 5 – Airport Transfer
On your last day, you will be taken back to the airport in Baltra.
