Reserva Ecológica Manglares Churute, located only around 30 miles southeast of Guayaquil, is one of the protected natural regions on the Ecuadorian coast. The Reserve consists for the most part of mangroves. Here you can observe different species of birds like herons, cormorants, pelicans and many more. You will hike through the tropical forest, where, with a bit of luck, you can spot howler monkeys (or at least hear them). Visit a traditional finca, where you will be served a delicious lunch and where you can learn more about the cultivation of the famous Ecuadorian cacao. Chocolate tasting included. Return to Guayaquil for the night.
