Welcome to Ecuador, land of the four worlds
The Ecuadorian Andes have so much to offer. In addition to colonial cities located at more than 2,000 meters above the sea level, such as Quito or Cuenca, the true protagonists are the numerous volcanoes pullulating Ecuador, one for all, the Chimborazo and its 6,130 meters.
The Ecuadorian rainforest is the perfect area to explore uncontaminated wildlife and experience its compelling variety of animals and plants. Here, the Yasuní National Park has been declared the most biologically diverse region in the World.
In the western part of the country, the Ecuadorian Coast hosts humid forests in the north, neotropical savannas in the center and the equatorial tundra located near Guayaquil. Along the shoreline, fishing villages and dazzling beaches with crystalline waters frame the Ruta del Sol.
The Galapagos Islands, located about 1,000 km from the coast, emerged from the ocean surface four million years ago as a result of underwater volcanic eruptions. Each island offers the opportunity to snorkel amidst unique marine species and safely hiking active volcanoes.
The Condor Trek is probably the best option for who wants to go trekking in Ecuador. The tour takes five days, for 6 to 8 hours of walking per day.
