Overview
San Cristóbal is the Archipelago’s fifth-largest island and was mainly an agricultural place. Nevertheless nature and wildlife lovers get their money’s worth due to the endemic elephant turtle (Giant Galapagos Turtle) and several white sandy beaches.
It is always a good idea to have an eye on our Galapagos Last-Minute offers!
Itinerary
At the airport on San Cristobal you meet your guide, who will take you to the hotel in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. In the afternoon you are free to relax on the beach, walk around or take a rest in your room.
Today, you will navigate around the island of San Cristobal. First you take the boat from the dock to the small and beautiful Rosa Blanca Bay, which is located north east of the island of San Cristobal. This place is characterized by many small beaches with crystal clear water. Sev-eral species of sharks, stingrays and sea turtles can be found here.
Next we will set off for Pitt Point, where you have the opportunity to fish. You will have lunch and continue your trip to Sardina Bay, which is known for an abundance of squid, lobster and shrimps. Afterwards you will navigate to the famous Kicker Rock. Admire the formation of this rock island with its impressive cliffs. Try to make deep sea snorkeling in the narrow channel and watch for hammerhead sharks, stingrays, sea lions, sea turtles and a variety of fish. At 16:30 you will be back at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch
Today you will see the largest sea lion colony of San Cristóbal on the island of Lobos. By speedboat, it is only 30 minutes away from the harbor. You disembark on the small island to walk around and be surprised by the great amount of life on the island. You can see Lava lizards and marine iguanas heating up before diving again to collect their food. This unique rep-tile is the only type of iguana on the planet that has adapted to dive in the sea in order to re-cover its food. Seasonally, you can also see some seabirds.
On the beaches, you see the cute sea lion puppies playing or just sunbathing and waiting for their parents to feed them. You can snorkel in the Pacific waters around this incredible island. While diving here, you may be able to see marine iguanas that feed on seaweed and magnificent stingrays that gallantly float through the ocean.
During this tour, you also visit the nearby Ochoa beach with its beautiful landscape. Afterwards you return to the small town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and you can enjoy the afternoon.
Meals: Breakfast/Lunch
Your day starts early at the harbor of Baquerizo Moreno, where your adventure begins. After a 2,5 -hour drive you will reach the island of Española. The two highlights of the day are Punta Suarez and Gardner Bay. In Punta Suarez you have the possibility to get to know a variety of bird species like the Galapagos Albatros (March-December), Nazca boobies, blue-footed boo-bies, finches or Galapagos pigeons. In addition to the fascinating animal world, Punta Suarez also has a breathtaking cliff landscape to admire.
