In the morning your driver guide will pick you up at the hotel. Herewith begins the city tour through the old historic city. Notably this is considered the largest and best preserved historic center in Latin America. Hence it was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978.
During the tour your guide will tell you about the history of Ecuador and Quito in colonial times. Also you will hear about the Inca Empire, the Spanish invasion and the independence process.

For example the Independence Square with the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Municipal building and the Cathedral. Afterwards you will be taken to the city Mitad del Mundo, which is near Quito (approx. 45 minutes).

This is the place where a group of french scientists determined the middle of the planet. Interestingly enough this was done in the 18th century. It must be taken into account that all this was done without the GPS technology that exists today. In this place there is a small town where the monument to the “Middle of the World” is located. Also there are different exhibitions and documentation centers to explore. For example the museum of Inti Ñan where the equatorial line passes. Also it offers its visitors interactive experiments that demonstrate the strategic location of Ecuador.

At night you will stay in a family-style hotel near the airport.
