Yasuní National Park, together with the protected zone and the adjacent Waorani area, has been recognized by UNESCO as the “Yasuní Biosphere Reserve” since 1989. This natural treasure in the provinces of Napo and Orellana in Ecuador covers an area of about 10,000 square kilometers, exceeding the size of many iconic cities in South America.
